Investment in new equipment highlights growth at Paris Charles de Gaulle

The purchase of four new hydrant dispensers by AirFuel at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport highlights the growing success of this joint venture between Q8Aviation and Air France.

Fuel volumes have grown steadily since AirFuel was set up in 2003 and have increased particularly significantly over the past two years.  The joint venture provides a service to more than 40 airlines at the airport. The into-plane service, provided by Skytanking, carries out around 70,000 fuelling operations every year.

The hydrant dispensers were supplied by Titan Aviation, which has been delivering fuelling systems around the world for more than 60 years. They are designed for airports served by underground pipelines and connect the airport hydrant pit system with the aircraft.

Refuelling is fast and efficient at flow rates of up to 3,500 litres per minute. The dispensers are equipped with the latest features including  a 15m long inlet boom pipe, 180° swivelling hose reel, LED lighting, control panel and fuel quality check enclosed in a built-in cabinet. The vehicles will be delivered by the end of July and will be operational from early August 2014.

David Tenza, Sales Manager Titan Aviation, says: “We have provided refuelling equipment to AirFuel since it was established over a decade ago and are delighted that our state-of-the-art dispensers will further improve its quality of service and safety standards at Paris Charles de Gaulle.”
