Nic Mason honoured by JIG award
The Joint Inspection Group (JIG) has presented a Lifetime Achievement award to Nic Mason, who leads Q8Aviation’s Technical Services team, in recognition of his contribution over the past 15 years, including his chairmanship of the JIG Operations Committee for the past five years.
Nic received his award at the recent JIG Members’ Technical Forum in London from Mark Newstead, JIG General Manager, who commented: “JIG is delighted to present Nic with this award. He has made a significant contribution to our mission of continually improving the standards of aircraft refuelling safety and this is truly appreciated.”
Nic has played an important role on many industry committees at both JIG and the Energy Institute. A notable example is his role in developing breakaway hydrant pit couplers, which greatly improved aircraft refuelling safety. He has been Chairman of the Energy Institute’s Aviation Equipment Committee since 2003, and is acknowledged as a world expert in this field.
