Q8Aviation Digs In To Help Local School
Students at Wishmore Cross School in Surrey can enjoy attractive new additions to their school gardens and a freshly decorated day room after staff at Q8Aviation spent their annual Community Day working at the school.
Some of the 40-strong team created a sensory garden that appeals to all the senses with a mix of colours, textures, tastes, scents and even sounds. It was designed by local garden designer Penny Drew, who donated her services to help the school.
Others decorated the day room where students go to relax or planted a herb garden outside the school kitchen, so that students can use fresh herbs in cooking classes and plant new herbs and vegetables in future.
Jed Donnelly, Head of Wishmore Cross School, says: “The benefits of a sensory garden for children with special needs are well known and so this is the perfect choice for our school. We are thrilled with this addition to our garden and all the other work that Q8Aviation has done for us. We very much appreciate their support and look forward to a continued partnership.”
Andrew Westmoreland, managing director of Q8Aviation comments: “Many of our team get involved in good causes throughout the year and have raised sponsorship money in varied ways, from cycle rides to growing moustaches! But our annual day when everyone joins in to help people locally takes our community support to a new level. It’s a great way of helping others and, at the same time, building team spirit. I am very proud of what our team achieved and delighted that we could help the school.”
