Q8Aviation supports partner in path towards sustainable aviation
Q8Aviation is proud to support ATF, a leading fuel distributor in the Channel Islands, in ATF’s recent development of its own Sustainable Aviation Fuel Certificate (SAFc) Book and Claim scheme.
This is the first time this innovative scheme has been adopted in the Channel Islands and reinforces Q8Aviation’s commitment to collaborating with its partners to champion greener aviation practices.
The initiative allows aviation users to purchase SAF certificates that represent the environmental benefits of using SAF. Even if SAF is not physically available at their departure location, owing to its limited volumes and supply points, the certificates enable them to support its use elsewhere. This is a vital step in furthering the cause of sustainability by ensuring the benefits of SAF are realised across the aviation industry, regardless of geographic limitations.
Naser Ben Butain, general manager Q8Aviation, comments: “We are excited to collaborate with ATF and look forward to providing them with SAF certificates through their book and claim system. This partnership highlights our commitment to advancing sustainable aviation solutions, making carbon footprint reductions easier, using digitalised traceability systems. By leveraging the book and claim system, we are proud to support the global shift towards greener aviation and demonstrate our leadership in driving sustainable fuel adoption across the industry.”
The SAFc scheme actively promotes the use of SAF, which produces around 80% fewer carbon emissions over its lifecycle compared with traditional jet fuel, and is an important pillar in the aviation industry’s drive to achieve its goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
