Q8Aviation to import more jet fuel from Kuwait

Q8Aviation has entered into an agreement with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation to purchase its greatest ever volume of jet fuel from Kuwait

In 2013, Q8Aviation will import 1.6 million tonnes of Kuwaiti jet fuel, which is 25 per cent more than in 2012 and represents around a quarter of KPC’s total export allocation.

This is in line with Q8Aviation’s mission to secure a diversified and profitable market for jet kerosene based on Kuwaiti hydrocarbons.

Q8Aviation General Manager Fadel Al Faraj says:  “The increased volume of fuel that we are importing from Kuwait is testament to the strong co-operation between Q8Aviation and KPC International Marketing, in particular with KPC’s Pall Mall office in London. The vision in our 2030 Strategy is to capitalise on Europe’s growing dependence on imported jet fuel. We are delighted that we are achieving this objective and will continue to strengthen our customer base and supply platform so that we maximise the use of Kuwaiti jet fuel in future.”

KPC already supplies Q8Aviation’s total fuel requirement for the UK, where it serves thirteen UK airports. The additional fuel imported from Kuwait in 2013 will be used in the French market.  Q8Aviation will continue to import Kuwaiti fuel into Bristol Port at Avonmouth and Le Havre in France. From the ports, the fuel is transported by pipeline to the major London airports of Heathrow and Gatwick in the UK and to Paris Charles de Gaulle and Orly in Paris. The new contract with KPC strengthens Q8Aviation’s unique customer proposition of a strong supply chain that stretches ‘safely from wellhead to wing tip.’
